Reason for Arsenal vs Brighton Predictions
Premier League leaders Arsenal host Brighton and Hove Albion in the League Cup third round. This is the round where all the clubs in European competition this season enter the League Cup. The Gunners won at Chelsea on Sunday, making it three wins in a row, all with clean sheets. There will, of course, be plenty of changes made for this cup tie, but Arsenal has a much stronger squad now. They have already played second-string line-ups in the Europa League and still finished top of the group. The Gunners have a good record in this competition, making it to at least the quarter-finals in four of the last five seasons. They haven’t won the League Cup, though, since the 1992/93 season. Arsenal hasn’t lost a competitive home game since April, and on that occasion, it was Brighton who beat them. Bukayo Saka shows his talent and should be one of the leading players in the future. Gabriel Martinelli showed why he was brought in. He has good dribbling, speed is his advantage, he is the starter in every game, and he scored several important goals last season. Availability isn’t a big problem, with just one fitness concern for the Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta to be concerned about due to a largely intact group. Emile Smith Rowe (Groin Surgery) is out of contention.
Brighton had a good win at Wolves on Saturday, and that was their second successive win. Before that, they had gone five matches without a win. Saturday’s win sees them sixth in the Premier League but 13 points behind the Gunners. Brighton doesn’t have a great League Cup record. Only once have they reached the quarter-finals, and that was in the 1978/79 season. They, too, will make changes but don’t have such a strong squad as their opponents. They beat League One Forest Green 3-0 in the second round, but this is obviously far tougher. Go for a home win here. Leandro Trossard plays well in the middle of the park, and he does not allow the opponent much action. Tariq Lamptey is a great player, he creates a lot of problems for his opponents, and the greatest virtue of this guy is speed. Owing to an otherwise full-strength squad, there is only the lone fitness worry for Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi to be concerned about. Jakub Moder (Cruciate Ligament Rupture) misses out on this game.
Conclusion
It will be an exciting clash, as Brighton is not without a chance of remaining undefeated. However, we believe Arsenal should meet the expectations and deliver a win.
This will be a big fight between these two rivals, and we should expect a goal from both teams. Football fans should enjoy this match and see at least a goal in each net.
