Reason for Burnley vs Watford Predictions
Burnley will want a better result here after the 1-2 FA Cup defeat in their last game at the hands of Huddersfield Town. Burnley hasn’t exactly had impressive attacking statistics of late. Their’ goals for’ figure stands at just three vs opposing sides over the course of their previous six matches. In those meetings, Burnley has also seen the tally of goals against them total 9. Going into this contest, Burnley has not lost a league tie with Watford in their last three matches. Considering they’ve only won one league match this season, winning four more looks a tough task for them at present, especially after selling Chris Wood. Seeing Watford, Newcastle, and Norwich all pick up points on Saturday was the last thing they wanted to see happen. They need to take it one match at a time, and a win in this match will see them go above Watford and escape the relegation zone. Doing that and still having games in hand on the bottom three would create a much healthier situation. Matej Vydra is slowly returning to a recognizable form, and he is the factor that can raise the team to a higher level with his goals. The bench players are expected to show as much as possible and impose themselves on the coach for the starting lineup. Regarding absentees, there’s just the sole fitness concern for the Burnley manager Sean Dyche to contend with, thanks to an almost full-strength set of players. Maxwell Cornet cannot play in this game through suspension.
In their last game, Watford drew 1-1 in the Premier League match with Newcastle United. Watford has seen success in front of goal of late, scoring five times in their last six games. This doesn’t mask the fact that Watford can also improve defensively after being scored against in 6 of those same games. They have only won two away league games this season, scoring 12 goals in nine games. Eight of those came in the two matches won at Norwich and Everton. Sissoko plays well in the middle of the pitch, and he does not allow the opponent much action. Emmanuel Dennis enjoys the field, and when he receives the ball and goes towards the goal, the opponent has problems. He is strong, and it isn’t easy to keep this guy. Watford Claudio Ranieri has to choose a team with limited availability. Ismaïla Sarr (Ligament Injury), Kwadwo Baah (Ankle Fracture), and Peter Etebo (Knee Injury) can’t be considered. Players who are serving a ban and are therefore ineligible to play are Imrân Louza and Adam Masina.
It will be a big battle between these two teams, and it will not be surprising if the match ends in a draw.
We can also expect a goal in both nets, and neither side should keep the clean sheet.
