Liverpool vs Ajax Betting Tips & Predictions
Reason for Liverpool vs Ajax Predictions
Liverpool
Liverpool still tops this Champions League group despite losing at home to Atalanta last week. They are two points clear of Ajax, who they host in their final home group match. Liverpool followed that game with a draw away at Brighton, a game they could have easily lost. Qualification is still looking good for the Reds, and a point in this game will take them into the last sixteen. However, a loss to Ajax and a win for Atalanta over Midtjylland would see Liverpool drop down to third place in the group with one game left. It had all been going well for Liverpool in this group with three wins and no goals conceded. They lost at home to Atalanta, which ended a run of 19 home Champions League games without defeat over 90 minutes. Georginio Wijnaldum plays well in the middle of the pitch, and he does not allow the opponent much action. Sadio Mane plays excellently, he is fast in the one-on-one game, and he is unstoppable. Mohamed Salah is a master of football, and it is a pleasure to watch his moves, he scored 19 goals last season, and the Egyptian does not spare his opponents.
Ajax
Ajax is second but on the same number of points as Atalanta, who they host in their final fixture. They will qualify if beating Atalanta in their last match, so a loss at Anfield won’t be a disaster for them. Since the opening loss to Liverpool, the Dutch side has beaten Midtjylland 2-0 and drew with Atalanta 2-2. A decent point in Italy, but they did lead that game 2-0. Saturday saw them win 5-0 away at FC Emmen as they remain top of their domestic league with nine wins and one defeat so far. Ajax travel to Anfield knowing they are unbeaten in their last 16 away games in this competition, their final loss being at Rostov four years ago. Four of their last five away games in the Champions League have had over 2.5 goals scored in them. Ryan Gravenberch has excellent ball control, he can play in several positions, and every team needs such a player. He is 18 years old, and he is the future of Dutch football. Dušan Tadić is the engine of this team, his greatest virtue is speed, he has excellent ball control and can be satisfied with his performance. Quincy Promes plays excellently, he is fast in the one-on-one game, and he is unstoppable.
Conclusion
It is going to be a very tight clash in which both sides have the chance to take points. It won’t be surprising if the game ends in a draw.
We can expect a big fight between these two teams, and both of them should be able to score. We don’t believe either side will keep the clean sheet.
