Marseille bounced back from the 1-0 loss to Olympiacos on Matchday One of the Champions League with a 1-0 win over Lorient over the weekend. Incidentally, the loss to Olympiacos remains Marseille’s only defeat in their last six competitive matches – although drawing three and winning only two of those. The French side is still searching for its first win in the Champions League since February 2012. They have lost their last ten Champions League matches in a row, including each of the six group matches in 2013-14 when they last played in the competition. Even at home, Marseille has lost six of their last seven Champions League matches winning just once. Valentin Rongier has excellent control of the ball, and he can play in several positions. Nemanja Radonjic is waiting for a chance from the bench and enters the second half. It’s hard to keep this guy in a one-on-one game, and he has fantastic dribbles. He played some great games last season and scored important goals.

City’s frustrating start to their Premier League campaign continued over the weekend in a 1-1 draw against West Ham United. Pep Guardiola’s side has now failed to win three of their last six in all competitions, drawing two and losing once. The 3-1 win on Matchday One against Porto was their eighth win in the previous 11 Champions League matches, drawing two and losing only once. Although not emphatic, City’s away form in the Champions League is stable and not spectacular. They are unbeaten in four matches, winning three and drawing one while losing just once in their last nine Champions League away matches, winning six and drawing two. Rodri is a tremendous defensive midfielder, he’s strong, and it’s not easy to take the ball away from him. Phil Foden shows her talent and should be one of the leading players in the future. Raheem Sterling is the engine of this team, his greatest virtue is speed, he has excellent ball control, and he can be satisfied with his performance. Pep Guardiola did not specify the severity of Aguero’s injury, but the Argentine will likely miss the game on Tuesday.
Conclusion
It is going to be an exciting clash, as Marseille is not without a chance of remaining undefeated. However, we believe Manchester City will meet the expectations and deliver a win.
We can expect a big fight between these two teams, and both of them should be able to score. We don’t believe either side will keep the clean sheet.
